ITAC Advanced Technology Camp
Rising 9th-11th graders who are interested in learning about advanced manufacturing technologies are eligible to participate in a free camp this summer from July 17th-20th. The goal of the camp is to introduce today's high school students to manufacturing processes that include a variety of activities including tours of local manufacturers, hands on learning and lectures from industry professionals. Since the camp began in 2013, 125 students from local schools have participated and over $20,000 in scholarships have been awarded to the students on the winning teams. Each of the teams is led by industry professionals that guide the students through their team projects. These industry professionals are volunteers who serve as mentors to the students, share industrial knowledge and provide leadership through the manufacturing process. Applications for this free camp can be found at https://va.headed2.com/profiles/program/315704 and must be received by June 7, 2019.
