Prince George County Public Schools opened on September 2, 2014 with 108 special needs student and 4,515 regular education students (total 4,623 students) riding buses or cars daily to/from school. Approximately, 218,552 miles will be driven for the special needs population and 640,115 miles for the regular education population. The district has 61 secondary routes and 58 elementary bus routes to transport regular education student. In addition, there are 7 buses and 4 cars transporting secondary special needs youth and 7 buses and 4 cars transporting elementary special education children. Students are transported on a daily basis to the following schools or specialized day treatment facilities (Per Individualized Education Plan for special needs students):
