During the Prince George County School Board’s final meeting of 2025, the board recognized District 2 Member Mr. Christopher A. Johnson as he approaches the end of his second term on the local governing body.
Mr. Johnson was elected to the board on November 7, 2017, serving for nearly eight years as one of District 2’s three elected members. During his time on the board, Mr. Johnson served as the board’s chairman in 2020 and 2022, and vice chairman in 2021.

In addition to his service to Prince George County, Mr. Johnson also served in a variety of roles with the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA). He represented his division as a delegate to the VSBA Delegate Assembly in 2020 and 2022 and served on the VSBA Task Force on Collective Bargaining in 2020 and 2023, later returning as co-chair in 2025.
His committee service includes the Legislative Positions Committee in 2022, the Nominating Committee in 2023, and the Audit Committee in 2025, as well as ongoing work on the Task Force on School Infrastructure Needs in 2022, 2023, and 2025. Mr. Johnson also served as Southside Region Chair in 2023 and 2024 and as a member of the VSBA Board of Directors from 2023 to 2025. In 2025, he further contributed as Chair of the Legislative Positions and Federal Relations Committee.

He is a person of strong character and an outstanding citizen in our community. Prince George County has been able to have a voice and a seat at the table during education discussions, ensuring the needs and perspectives of students, staff, and families are represented and heard. We congratulate Mr. Johnson for his dedicated service to our schools, staff, and families, and wish him continued success as a valuable member of our community and society.”
During December’s regular business meeting, Mr. Johnson received a resolution celebrating his achievements on the board, along with a collection of PGCPS-themed gifts, while receiving well-wishes from his fellow board members.
