PGAEF AWARDS GRANTS TO DAVID A. HARRISON ELEMENTARY TEACHERS
Posted: February 15, 2022
The Prince George Alliance for Education Foundation (PGAEF) awarded a pair of grants to two David A. Harrison Elementary School teachers to support their efforts to deliver engaging lessons and learning experiences to their students.
Harrison Elementary Title I teacher Amber Barham and special education teacher Candace Adair received grants of $250 and $500, respectively, as part of the Foundation's Teacher & Classroom Mini-Grant program. These grants can help educators fund projects that may not be part of the school division's adopted budget.
For Ms. Barham, she used her grant funds to purchase an assortment of books to benefit her students and the entire Harrison Elementary community.
Applications for the second round of grant funding remain open. The deadline for submission is June 1, 2022, with an anticipated review date by the Foundation's board of June 15, 2022. Grants are expected to be awarded in early-to-mid August.
