N.B. Clements Junior High School Embodies Spirit of Giving Through Annual Community Service Projects

December 18, 2025

The spirit of the holiday season continues to find a home at N.B. Clements Junior High School, as the school’s counseling team partners with community organizations to support families within their school.

In what has been a tradition at Clements for nearly a decade, the school counseling office has developed close relationships with community partners in Prince George County to provide holiday support to the families of students who may not otherwise have access to essential resources throughout the year.

Leading into the Thanksgiving holiday in late November, thanks to these partnerships, full Thanksgiving meals were provided to seven Clements families.

With Christmas on the horizon, their efforts continued as the team and the school’s principal, Mr. Matt Weston, partnered with Oakland Baptist Church, which generously donated an assortment of Christmas gifts, food, and household items to support five N.B. Clements Junior High School families.

“This important work continues through partnerships with Mr. Bernard Walker of Prince George County Social Services, who collaborates with local resources to extend additional assistance to Clements families,” Dr. Steven Bhatt, N.B. Clements Junior High School’s Director of School Counseling, said. “Through the generosity of these individuals and organizations, our counseling team and its community partners are able to support approximately a dozen families each year, helping ensure students and families feel supported during the holiday season and throughout the year.”

The counseling staff is grateful for these partnerships and looks forward to continuing this work in the future.
