The Communications and Public Relations Office partners with schools and Prince George County Public Schools departments to share information about district programs and initiatives with internal and external stakeholders while also helping guide medium and long-term communications goals for the division. The department also serves as a point of contact for local media.

March 18, 2021 - Four Prince George County Public Schools - L.L. Beazley Elementary, South Elementary, William A. Walton Elementary, and Prince George High School - were the recipients of a donation of 48 gallons of hand sanitizer from national workplace uniform and safety supplies provider Cintas Corporation.

Feb. 22, 2021 - Prince George County Public Schools will join 132 other school divisions throughout the Commonwealth to celebrate School Board Appreciation Month during February. Schools and communities will recognize over 800 elected and appointed school board members across Virginia for the dedicated service to public education during the month-long celebration.
Feb. 18, 2021 - The Virginia Department of Education has recognized Prince George High School counselor Anna Payne and the school's Counseling Department as part of the VDOE's first-ever Kindness Week across the Commonwealth.

Dec. 18, 2020 - Prince George County Public Schools continues its preparations for the resumption of athletic competition as Athletic Director Bruce Carroll and his team of coaches work together to develop safe environments for student-athletes and support staff during the upcoming winter sports season.

Nov. 20, 2020 - Prince George High School Journalism/Yearbook/Broadcast Advisor and educator Chris Waugaman has been named the recipient of the National Scholastic Press Association Pioneer Award, the organization’s highest honor, in recognition of Waugaman’s decades-long commitment to mentoring the next generation of journalists.
Nov. 3, 2020 - Prince George County Public Schools has become one of the first school divisions in the commonwealth to outfit nearly its entire fleet of school buses with state-of-the-art air filtration systems that can remove contaminants from the air protecting students and drivers.

Oct. 30, 2020 - Prince George County Public Schools, in partnership with the James River Junior Woman’s Club, a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, were able to bring the fun of trick-or-treating safely to hundreds of the county’s elementary-aged students during a special Storybook Character Drive-Thru Parade event at Prince George High School Thursday evening.
Oct. 26, 2020 - Prince George County Public Schools is expected to receive $1 million in federal Coronavirus Aid, Recovery, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding from the state following Governor Ralph Northam's announcement of funding disbursements aimed at helping K-12 public schools in Virginia.
Oct. 22, 2020 - Prince George County Public Schools’ David A. Harrison and William A. Walton Elementary Schools have been selected to receive the 2020 Virginia Purple Star Designation from the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and the Virginia Council on the Interstate Compact on the Educational Opportunity of Military Children in recognition of both schools' commitment to serving students and families connected to the military.
Oct. 8, 2020 - Newly released data from the Virginia Department of Education has revealed Prince George County Public Schools’ on-time graduation rate rose to 93 percent in 2020, with more than nine out of ten students who entered the ninth grade during the 2016-2017 school year earning a diploma and graduating from high school within four years.

Sept. 15, 2020 - Prince George County Public Schools is proud to announce N.B. Clements Junior High School Algebra 1 teacher Ms. Jenny Powers was named the recipient of the 2020 Drs. Singh and Bhuller Tri-Cities Outstanding Educator of the Year Award from The John Randolph Foundation, which recognizes outstanding educators in the community and motivates them to enhance their teaching skills.
Sept. 11, 2020 - Prince George County Public Schools is due to receive approximately $1.5 million in additional Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding from the Prince George County Board of Supervisors to help support a wide range of the school division’s current needs, including technological and health-related spending.
Sept. 8, 2020 - Prince George County Public Schools safely opened the 2020-2021 school year Tuesday as students returned to class both virtually and in-person at the district’s nine schools with measures in place aimed at protecting the health of students and staff.

July 6, 2020 - Monday, Prince George County Public Schools welcomed students safely back to class for the first time since March 13 following Governor Ralph Northam’s closure of school buildings in Virginia in response to COVID-19 as Prince George County Public Schools held the first day of its Elementary Summer Academy.
