How Long Have You Been Part of the PGCPS Family?
I've been a part of PGCPS for almost seven years and I've served them all at N.B. Clements Jr. High School.

Please Share Your Thoughts on Being Named Teacher of the Year & What This Recognition Means to You.
I was ecstatic when I found out I was named Teacher of the Year for Clements.  I feel so honored to know that my work in the classroom is recognized by my peers and administration.  I love teaching and I know this is my mission in life.  This recognition is only going to make me work harder for my students and colleagues in the years to come.

What Inspired You to Enter the World of Teaching and Education?
I have always felt compelled to serve.  I knew from a young age that I loved serving others.  When I was in school, I loved being the go-to guy if someone needed help on a homework assignment or carrying books from class to class.  As I got older, I realized that the best way for me to serve others is to enter the classroom.  Here I hope I can inspire the next generation of servant leaders serving both in their community and around the world.

Do You Have A Special Memory or Moment from This School Year You Would Like to Share?
My special moment from this school year is the collaboration I have with my co-teacher, Evan Karlson.  I love how well we work together teaching these kids Algebra.  We have a rhythm in the classroom that just flows well.  If one of us has to take a phone call or step out for a meeting, we know that the other can handle the class until one of us gets back.  It's so comforting to know that I get to work with someone who completely has my back and I have his.

Finally, What Do You Consider the Most Important Lesson You Help Students Learn?
The most important lessons come from hard work.  Anything worth having comes from hard work.  And anything worth doing is worth doing well.  Life, like math, is done in increments so be sure you soak up every lesson so you can be prepared for the next!!
