Please Share Your Thoughts on Being Named Teacher of the Year & What This Recognition Means to You.
With all that each teacher does to be here for our students, it was a shock that I won. It is truly a privilege to be recognized by your peers for your sacrifices and dedication. But we all have sacrificed and been a dedicated group at The Ed Center.

What Inspired You to Enter the World of Teaching and Education?
At a young age, I was ignorant of many things. I always wondered what else I could have been if I had known what was possible. Wanting to give that knowledge to others, coupled with my love of sports, guided me to become a HPE teacher.

Do You Have A Special Memory or Moment from This School Year You Would Like to Share?
I often run into former Ed Center students and to see that they are doing well and prospering is always a special moment. It reminds me of why I teach. When we're in the trenches we it is difficult to see the impact you are having on youngsters. But seeing what they become once they leave you and hearing them say something I did or said still resonates with them makes the long arduous days count.

Finally, What Do You Consider the Most Important Lesson You Help Students Learn?
Life is not easy and we make mistakes along the way. That is why they are before me. What are they going to do in those difficult times or when they make mistakes? Are they going to give in to the pressure or are they going to figure out a way to survive?
