Jackson McPeak, a junior at Prince George High School, was recently recognized by the Prince George County School Board for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout with Scouting America.

During the August 10, 2026, meeting of the Prince George County School Board, McPeak was joined by his family as he was honored before the community and local education leaders after completing his Eagle Board of Review in late June and receiving his award during the Court of Honor ceremony on August 2, 2026, at Gregory Memorial Presbyterian Church.

McPeak started his Scouting career as a Tiger Cub in Pack 910, where he progressed through the ranks before earning his Arrow of Light in 2021, the same year he crossed over to Boy Scout Troop 900. He has served as Instructor, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and Senior Patrol Leader. He also served one term as Den Chief for Pack 910. His dedication to Scouting America is shown through his receipt of the World Conservation Award in 2021 and the over two dozen merit badges McPeak has earned. Additionally, his peers voted him to become a member of The Order of the Arrow in 2024.  He currently serves as the Chaplain's Aide with the Troop. 

McPeak's Eagle Project directly benefits the students at L.L. Beazley Elementary School.  He led and supervised a small team to design and construct five mobile flower beds for use by the school's science classes, allowing students to actively follow the five main stages of a plant's life cycle while covering the subject in science class.

"Jackson exemplifies leadership, dedication, commitment, strength, and morality to do one's duty, which are characteristics of an Eagle Scout. He embodies the Scout Law that makes him a person of strong character and an outstanding citizen," Division Superintendent Dr. Wayne Lyle said. "We wish Jackson continued success as a valuable member of our society and in fulfilling his dream as a master tradesman to become a successful carpenter and custom home builder."

McPeak will embark on his tradesman journey this school year, attending classes at Rowanty Technical Center in Carson as he develops the skills to support his future career in carpentry.
